Garden birds

These images were all taken in my back garden, in Brookwood, west Surrey. This is a fairly unremarkable garden, long enough to have some isolation between the house and the end of the garden, where I have set up a feeding station to attract in visitors. Even in the past year, the bird fauna has changed drastically; house sparrows have become much less frequent visitors and starlings are fairly uncommon, and now goldfinches are among the most common visitors. In total I've recorded over 40 species in my garden, including a hobby hawking over on one occasion.

Gardens are a great place to hone your skills as a wildlife photographer. I've explained how I set up my feeding station for bird photography in the How to section.
